Why did you want to be an Editor for the Rotunda?
Since I came to Longwood wanting to be a journalist, I figured that writing for the newspaper would give me good experience. Being the former News Editor and now the Copy Editor has been awesome and given me great writing, editing and leadership experiences.
What is your favorite part of being a Copy Editor for the Rotunda?
I love making people’s stories better and seeing their writing improve. It also helps my writing improve too.
What is your biggest grammatical pet peeve?
I have several, but the biggest is wrong punctuation, especially with commas and periods.
What is your major and what do you hope to do with it?
I’m a Communication Studies Mass Media major. I’m not sure what I want to do with it exactly, but I do want to write regularly. Editing too.
Do you prefer to take notes with a pencil, pen, or on your laptop?
Definitely pen. Pilot Gel pens are amazing and I love all the awesome colors!
Would you rather take a test or write a paper?
Probably a paper. I freak out when I see questions on a test and I don’t know the answers. Papers are easier because I have my research in front of me.
What do you do to unwind?
Curl up with a good book or play games on Facebook.
It’s Friday night, and you have very little homework. What do you do?
More than likely go out with my boyfriend John or sorority sisters, or watch movies all night long.
What was your Halloween costume this year?
A flight attendant. John even made me a very official-looking I.D. badge.
Coffee or tea?
Iced tea all the way.
