Consistently Inconsistent
Dustin Meadows shares thoughts on last week's political column

It is our job as Americans, Mr. Crump, to ask ourselves does Obama really stand for "change" or "hope" more so than any one of us in America? In four years there will still be taxes, no universal health care, and Democrats and Republicans will still be partisan toward one another. Sadly these three things were implemented by our forefathers, going back to the Federalists and Anti-Federalists. It is our culture to do so, it's part of being an American; you can't change that. Obama will find out soon enough, as did President Nixon, that getting America out of war is a very tough job. With Obama's 16-month draw down plan, I beg him to remember when Saigon fell, 11 million people died because we cut and ran. Think about that, President-elect.
We are, Mr. Crump, hopefully beginning anew. Yes, a historic election has occurred, and yes I hope Obama speaks like Clinton and governs like Reagan. (Yet in this election I believe the American people forgot that one man does not make America. No President has, or ever will; it is the American people that make America and her Presidents great. I believe we lost sight of that in this election, because if we continue to put our faith in men we will surely be let down.
