Longwood finally has a football team. SGA passed the proposal of Matthew McCloud and Kevin Tullington at their meeting on Oct. 20, after they went through a rigorous Q&A session. The motivation came from a five-year history of regular pick-up football games, originally known as Longwood Society of Football started by alumni John Skelly and Derek Hambright. (0) comments

Men's Soccer Edges Houston Baptist

The Longwood men's soccer team hosted Houston Baptist University, an ASC conference team on Nov. 1st at the Athletics Complex in Farmville. The Lancer's came into the match off a win at UMBC and with a record of 4-10-2 overall and 1-2 in the ASC. (0) comments

Women's Soccer, Honoring Wounded Warriors and Seniors, Win Over Radford

The cold rainy weather on Sun., Nov. 1 did not hold back the Longwood women's soccer team from making the day spectacular. Men's Rugby Overtakes Roanoke, Women Fall to UMW

Men's Rugby Overwhelms Roanoke College The rain stopped long enough to allow a crowd of 300 to see the Longwood men's rugby team recover from its recent loss and dominate Roanoke College 66-0. Roanoke College rugby is a new team in the Virginia Rugby Union (VRU) and is an offshoot of the Roanoke men's club. (1) comment

No matter how many times you hear Democrats saying, "Times are getting better" or Republicans simply spouting back "No," it seems like times have not changed that much over the span of a year and a half, at least at Longwood. Budget dilemmas continue to plague the front offices. (0) comments
