Dr. Jordan puts on Annual Ghost Story Telling Event

On the night of Oct. 25, a body of near five hundred students collected in Blackwell to listen to the annual Ghost Stories as told by Dr. Jim Jordan. For many years, it has been a Longwood tradition for Dr. Jordan to usher in the Halloween season with a history of Longwood and the series of unfortunate and peculiar events which happened about the campus. Potential New Food and Fashion in Farmville

Businesses and developers have a spark of interest in the rapid growth of this college town

Ask any college student where to go for Italian food in Farmville and most will probably tell you Pino's Italian Restaurant. Or, if you want to take a date somewhere more romantic, then they might suggest Charley's Waterfront Cafe. (1) comment

The Longwood Look

Stepping Out of the Box: Accessories

You're wearing a white T-shirt, dark wash jeans, and ballet flats. If you're a guy, your white shirt is a button-up, and you've swapped your jeans for khakis. These basic looks are both comfortable and effortless ways to look good, without looking like you tried too hard. (0) comments

Staff Profile: Rebekah Tucker, Editor-in-Chief

Why did you want to be an Editor for the Rotunda? I saw it as a great opportunity to learn and grow in the journalism world outside of the classroom. I worked on my high school newspaper and really enjoyed that, so I thought I might as well continue with it. What is your favorite part of being the Rotunda's Editor-in-Chief? I like to see all the sections come together and see an amazing finished product. It's a really cool feeling to be part of that. (0) comments

With a major that includes nearly 375 students, it's no surprise that senior Rachel Henderson has dedicated her career at Longwood to this field of study. Henderson said that she chose to be a biology major because not only does she obviously enjoy science, but she also wanted to be challenged during her four years as an undergrad. (0) comments

When it comes to the sciences, all majors have their stereotypes. Biology majors get to play with animals, physics majors get to build roller coasters, and chemistry majors stoop over chemicals while pursuing their Bachelor's in Mad Science. But in science, as in normal life, truth is often more colorful than fiction, and Longwood's Chemistry Department is no exception. (0) comments

The Slow Demise of Modern Music Via the Malevolent Soundtrack

When there's a song that really just makes a scene in a movie that special scene, we want to capture the feeling that we experienced when we first heard it played in that particular film. Though I can completely identify with this feeling and know that it is totally valid, I am sick and tired of my favorite bands being exploited by blockbuster films. (2) comments
