The Longwood University baseball team hosted the visiting Highlanders from the University of Delaware during the weekend of Feb. 20-22. In Saturday's game against Colgate University, Longwood started out rough but managed to pull together for a thrilling 80-75 victory. An estimated crowd of over 500 watched Virginia Military Institute (VMI) hand Longwood's men's rugby team its first defeat of the spring 21-7 to win the championship of the Todd Miller Invitational Rugby Tournament. The rugby games were the main attraction but the goal of the event was to raise money for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Todd Miller Scholarship fund and to raise awareness for LifeNet, an organ donation organization.
