The Longwood University women's basketball team won a thriller against Mount St. Mary's on Thursday, Jan. 29 in Willett Hall. Senior Anna Steg was one of three Lancers to post double figures in scoring with 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. (0) comments
Last Feb. 4 the men's basketball team found themselves sitting on a record of 5-20. They had suffered lopsided losses to the hands of James Madison, Virginia, VCU and even to Norfolk State and Navy at home. Head coach Mike Gillian also had to deal with two major losses as then-junior Dana Smith tore his ACL for the second time in his college career and missed the rest of the season, and then-sophomore Kevin Swecker did not play a majority of the season due to mono.
