Lancers Take Two Tough Opponents Over the Weekend

Women's Field Hockey faced Mountianeers and Tigers

By Derek J. Poe Rotunda Reporter The Longwood University women's field hockey team spent the weekend in Boone, N.C. taking on conference rivals Appalachian State and University of the Pacific. On Saturday the Lancers (7-9) defeated the Mountaineers (2-12) by a score of 3-2 as junior Jessica Mantel scored the game-winning goal late in the second half, her first goal of the season. Women's Soccer Honors Seniors, Gets Win Against S.C. State

The Longwood women's soccer team honored its four seniors in a pregame ceremony and went on to defeat the South Carolina State Bulldogs 5-1 on Friday, Oct. 17 at the Lancer Athletics Complex. Wearing decorated caps like the ones worn at convocation, seniors Ingrid Hale, Cassie Lynn, Beth Shade and Maddie Stevens were recognized before the game. (0) comments
